John Nelson Gude

John N. Gude, age 66 of Omaha, NE (formerly Hamburg, IA) passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024.

John Nelson Gude was born on February 3, 1957 in Hamburg, IA; the son of John Frederick and Clara Jean (Nelson) Gude.  He grew up and attended school in Hamburg, graduating from Hamburg High School with the Class of 1975. 

On November 3, 1979, he was united in marriage to Deborah C. Davison in Hamburg, IA.  He worked at AT&T for 20 years and then at Valmont Industries.  John also worked many years on weekends at Gerda's Bakery; Gerda and Karl were family to him.  He was a Union Steward for IBEW Local #1974.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

John is survived by his wife Deb Gude of Omaha, NE; children:  Natalie Aistrope of Omaha, NE and Christopher Gude of Omaha, NE; one grandchild Shania Aistrope; two sisters:  Jean Anne Muenchau (Marty) of Sherwood, OR and Janet Teten (Bill) of Sidney, IA; other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg, IA.
