John Arthur Dutt

John A. Dutt, age 69 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Sunday; June 14, 2026 at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

John Arthur Dutt was born on August 17, 1956 in Quonsett Point, Rhode Island; the son of Albert J. and Thelma C. (Schaefer) Dutt.   He attended school at Roncalli Catholic Schools in Aberdeen, SD

He was united in marriage to Joan M. Flemmer on October 20, 1984 in Aberdeen, SD and to this union two children were born:  Michael and Anne.  John and Joan moved to Nebraska City in 2000 from Omaha, NE.

John worked for many years at Control Data in Aberdeen, SD.  He also worked at Mutual of Omaha amongst various other places.  He was proud Brain Cancer Survivor.

He is survived by his wife Joan Dutt of Nebraska City; children:  Michael Dutt and wife Megan of Yutan, NE and Anne Dutt of Nebraska City; one granddaughter Adney; siblings:  Paul Dutt and wife Jean and Mary Dutt all of Aberdeen; sister-in-law   Tracy Shupe and husband Rick of Prior Lake, MN; four nieces and their spouses; other extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law Wayne and Diana Flemmer.

Funeral Services will be held Friday (6/19) at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City; inurnment will follow in the Wyuka Cemetery at Nebraska City.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday (6/18) at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City followed by a rosary/prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

A memorial fund is being established in his memory.
