Joella Lechner Obituary

Joella Jean Lechner, age 85 of Nebraska City, Nebraska, passed away on December 11, 2022 in Richardson, Texas. 

Joella was born on August 17, 1937 in Auburn, NE to the late Charles Clark and Naomi Doiel.    

After graduating from Nebraska City High School in 1955, she met and married Norbert Lechner in Nebraska City.  Joella and Norbert went on to have 6 children.  They shared 57 years together before his passing in 2013.  

She is survived by children:  Chris Kohout of Nebraska City (husband Kim, children Lindsey and Curtis), Lori Carson of Richardson, Texas (daughter Kristen), Clark Lechner of Lakewood, Colorado (wife Lori, daughters Lauren and Kirbi), Scott Lechner of Nebraska City (wife Linda, sons Michael, Charles and Alex), Amy Malmberg of Nebraska City (sons Jim, Keith), and many great grandchildren.

Joella was preceded in death  by her husband Norbert Lechner (2013), son Jerry Lechner (2000) and grandsons Rick Anderson (2005) and Jordan Teten (2016).

When Norbert and Jo retired, they continued their shared joy in making crafts and traveling the country to visit their children, grandchildren and many friends. 

A celebration of her life will be planned for later in the spring.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City, Nebraska.
