Jesse E. Adams

Jesse Eugene Adams, 91 years of Sun Lakes, AZ. and formerly of Nebraska City, NE passed away on May 9, 2019. 

Jesse was born on November 27, 1927 in Peru, NE., the son of Christian and Katie Maude (Hutchinson) Adams. He attended Nebraska City schools and enlisted in the Navy in 1945. On January 1, 1950 he married Shirley Ann Giittinger in Nebraska City. They were married 50 years until her death on November 17, 2000. In 1951, they moved to Loveland, CO where he worked for the railroad. In 1952, they moved to Lincoln, where he worked for Elgin National Watch Company.  In 1955, their daughter Kim was born and they moved to Phoenix, AZ. to work for Allied Signal, where he retired in 1985. Over the years he enjoyed bowling, softball, golf, playing cards, traveling, Husker football, his grandkids, family and friends.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles, Floyd and Bill Adams, sisters, Iva Rakes, Fay Hostetter, Helen Kretzer, Twyla Gillespie, Nellie Thorne, Lillian Baucke and Phyllis Adams.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim and her husband Rick Whalen, granddaughter, Jennifer Whalen, granddaughter Jessica and her husband John Cilia, great grandchildren, Luke, Colt and Lola. all of Petaluma, CA. Sisters-in-laws, Evelyn Giittinger and Edna Adams; brother-in-law Marv Giittinger and wife Murilla.  In addition, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the celebration of life,  graveside service on Friday (8/9) at 11:30 at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the donors favorite charity.
