Jerry Lee Sparks

Jerry Lee Sparks, age 54 of Omaha, NE passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.

Jerry Lee Sparks was born on July 3, 1970 in Red Oak, Iowa; the son of Olin Ray Sparks Sr. and Sharon (Geyer) Johnson.  He attended school in Tarkio, Missouri through the 10th Grade and then Farragut, Iowa High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1988.

Jerry was a beloved son, brother, husband, uncle, great uncle and brother-in-law.  He loved his family with his whole heart, even when he didn’t agree with you, that never changed his love.  This love carried over to his football team, the Dallas Cowboys.  Win or lose, you could always find him watching the game.  Jerry loved nature and all that it offered.  Whether it was fishing, camping, boating, or just sitting and enjoying his surroundings, he loved the outdoors.  Jerry’s two other loves were his late wife Roseanne and his work.  He was a forklift operator for over 30 years and most recently worked at Ford Storage.

He is survived by his mother, Sharon Johnson and husband Ted of Farragut, IA; siblings:  Olin Sparks Jr. and wife Cristy, James Sparks and significant other Theresa, Krista Jacquard and husband Marc, Robert Sparks, Teddy Johnson and wife Donna, Rick Johnson, Randy Johnson, Robert Johnson, Kathy Hart and Christina Miller; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; other family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Roseanne, his dad, Olin Sparks Sr. and many aunts and uncles.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg, IA.  Burial will follow the service at Home Cemetery in Tarkio, MO.

The family will greet friends on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
