Jennie E. (Hamilton) Tysor

Jennie E. Tysor, age 84 of Farragut, IA (formerly Riverton, IA) passed away on Monday,  August 19, 2024 at the Shenandoah Medical Center in Shenandoah, IA.

Jennie was born on December 9, 1939 in Riverton, IA; the daughter of Charles Edward and Margaret Irene (Edgerton) Hamilton.   She attended school in Riverton.

On July 1, 1956, she was united in marriage to William F. “Bill” Tysor in Riverton, IA and to this union five children were born:  William Dean, Carrie Jeanette, Chris Edward, Bruce Frederick and Todd Dale.

Jennie was a housewife and homemaker and a loving wife and mom; always tending to the needs of her family.  She was very active in the Riverton Community and was a member of the Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge. 

She is survived by her sons:  William D. “Bill” Tysor and wife Marsha of Odebolt, IA, Bruce F. Tysor and wife Suzanne of Sidney, IA and Todd D. Tysor of Farragut, IA; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; other extended family members and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill on May 23, 2019, children:  Carrie J. Tysor on March 22, 1996 and Chris E. Tysor on April 24, 2011, two grandsons:  Timothy Tysor and Travis Tysor, a brother Charles Hamilton and his wife Betty, parents Charles and Irene Hamilton and father and mother-in-law:  Raymond and Caroline Tysor.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday; August 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverton Cemetery, Riverton, IA.  Immediately following the services, a time of lunch and fellowship will be held at the Riverton Community Building.

Memorials may be given to the Riverton City Park, Riverton, IA.
