Jason Edward Weston

Jason E. Weston, age 41 of Kearney, NE (formerly Union, NE) passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Prosser, NE.

Jason was born on December 14, 1974 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City,  NE; the son of Thomas Edward and Linda Sue (Schreiter) Weston.  He attended school in Nebraska City and graduated with the class of 1994.   He attended U.N.L. for a year, where he was active in ROTC.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1996 and graduated from Ft. Knox in January of 1997.  He honorably and faithfully served his country until his discharge in 2008.

Jason furthered his education and received his Bachelors of Science Degree from U.N.K in 2008.  He was united in marriage to Allison J. Johnson on May 29, 2009 at the First Lutheran Church in Kearney.

He currently worked as Superintendent with CPI.  He previously worked at Baldwins Mfg. in Kearney for some 12 years as Warehouse Supervisor.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Allison Weston of Kearney, NE; children:  Khloe of the home and twins Michaela S. and Melissa L. of Kearney, NE; parents Tom and Linda Sue Weston of Nebr. City, NE;  siblings:  Michele Lundgren (Stan) of Kearney, NE; Kim Stutheit (Shad) of Waverly, NE; Marcie Swoyer (Brian) of Lawrence, KS; Aaron Weston (Cara) of Overland Park, KS; Nate Weston (Stacy) of Omaha, NE and Tyler Weston of Lincoln, NE; paternal grandmother Gladys Weston of Nehawka, NE;father and mother-in-law:  Larry and Myrna Johnson of Kearney, NE; sister-in-law Jennifer Pittner (Dan) of Minden, NE; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandpa Edward Weston in 1999, maternal grandpa Leonard Schreiter in 1991 and maternal grandma Della Schreiter in 2006.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebr. City with Fr. Michael McCabe officiating.  Military Honors will be conducted at the church following the services by the Nebraska Army National Guard Funeral Honors Detail and the Talmage American Legion Post.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday (3/21) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney, NE.

A memorial fund is being established to further his childrens education.
