Jarrod Andrew Propp was born to Danny Propp and Amanda (Ziolkowski) Driever on May 7, 1988, at Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, IA. Jarrod passed away at age 35 on September 4, 2023, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, TX with his mother by his side. Jarrod was a 2006 graduate of Sidney High School. After high school, Jarrod and lifelong friend, Cody Golden, attended Iowa Western Community College and were roommates for several years. It was during this time Jarrod pursued a career at Menards, working his way up to the paint manager position. Jarrod's burning desire to learn pushed him to go back to college. Jarrod graduated from Southeast Community College with a degree in Electrical Electromechanical Technology on December 19, 2019. Jarrod graduated with distinction and was recognized for his scholastic excellence. Jarrod then went to work at Schneider Electric in Lincoln, NE before moving to College Station, TX.
From day one, Jarrod and his big brother, Seth, were inseparable. They were only 18 months apart and spent every moment together. For several years they even believed each other's names were "brother". At a young age, Jarrod was blessed to be co-parented by Amanda, Alan, Danny and Sheila. With this he was blessed by his other siblings, Shelbie, Zeke, and Mallory.
Jarrod's biggest love in life was his nephews. He loved every one of them and made sure he taught them everything he knew. The boys spent many weekends with their Uncle Roddy cruising in his race car. Jarrod loved spending time with his friends and family playing trivia. Do you know how long it took the inventor of the Rubik's cube to solve his puzzle? One whole month! Jarrod was able to solve this puzzle in less than two minutes. Jarrod had a passion for music, movies, history, woodworking and making people laugh.
Jarrod's face would light up when he saw you, but we all know he was the true light in everyone's lives and loved by many!
