Janice Irene (Williamson) Soriano

Janice I. Soriano, age 81 of Nebraska City passed away on Sunday; Sept. 20, 2020 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Lincoln, NE.

She was born on May 16, 1939 in Omaha, NE; the daughter of Virgil William and Lucille Bessie (Rakes) Mead.  She attended school in Union, NE and graduated from the Union High School with the Class of 1957.

She was united in marriage to Robert John Williamson on June 1, 1957.  He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1978.   She later married Consencion “Tony” Soriano in 1986 at Nebraska City.

Janice worked for numerous years at the former Duff’s Friendship Villa in Nebraska City as a Cook.  She was a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband Tony Soriano of Nebr. City; children:  Kathy Huffman of Beatrice, NE, Bill Williamson (Donna LaCore) of Hot Springs, AR, Steve Williamson (Brenda) of Royal, AR, Delphena Pringle (Jim) of Virginia Beach, VA, Lisa Rainey of Northboro, IA and Toni Ann Byfield (Richard) of Auburn, NE; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, a twin brother Johnny Mead of Stafford, VA; sister in law Anna Mead of Nebr, City; brothers and sisters in law:  Neto Soriano of Austin, TX, Zeke Soriano of Nebr. City, Pat Summers of Lincoln, NE, Lupe’ Davis of Farragut, IA and Frank Soriano (Karlene) of Falls City, NE; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

In addition to her first husband Robert, she was preceded in death by a daughter Linda (Williamson) Palmateer, sisters:  Margaret Sitzman and Betty Hall, and brothers:  George Mead, Stanley Mead, Ronald Mead and William Art Mead.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (9/26) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City; inurnment will follow in the Wyuka Cemetery.  

Memorials may be given to the family.
