Janice F. Bolejack

Janice F. “Jan” Bolejack, age 85 of Nebraska City, NE passed away Friday morning, June 13, 2025 at the Ambassador in Nebr. City.

Janice Faye Bolejack was born on May 6, 1940 to Clinton and Blanche (Brown) Bolejack in Nemaha, NE.  She was baptized in the Christian Church and attended Nemaha School, graduating with the Class of 1958.

After graduation Jan enlisted in the United States Army on May 18, 1959 and served for two years until her honorable discharge on April 26, 1961.  She then made her home in Evansville, IN working at for Goodyear Tire and the Red Cross.  Getting lonesome for her family, she moved to Nebraska City in 2004.  She resided at the Riverview Cottages and joined the Presbyterian Church where she made many friends.

Growing up Janice was a sassy little tomboy and she kept that sassy trait throughout her life. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her sister Dee West of Nebr. City, NE, nieces:  Lynn (Dale) Wurtele of Nebr. City, NE and Susie (Ron) Bielenberg of Kearney, NE; nephew Mitch (Joan) Reed; great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and many friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bob Bolejack, sister Shirley (Bob) Reed, nephews:  Mark West, Ross West and Ryan Reed and her beloved dogs Baxter and Sammy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City, NE with Pastor Tom Osborne officiating.  Inurnment will be at the Nemaha Cemetery in Nemaha, NE.
