James "Jim" E Wright

James Eugene Wright was born May, 18th, 1934 on the farm South of Dunbar, Ne. the son of Ray and Flava (Seybert) Wright. He graduated from Dunbar Public School in 1952, where he played football, basketball, and baseball.

He was united in marriage to Shirley M. Wright on March 20, 1954 in Clay Center, NE Jim worked in construction, building his family two separate homes.

Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to go deer hunting with his brother Don. Jim was a volunteer firefighter for the Dunbar Fire Department. He also served the Dunbar First Presbyterian Church in many capacities. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and after moving to Lincoln, playing cards and dominoes with friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Dr. Debra Wright and husband Russell Ethridge of Grosse Pointe, MI; Pamela Young and husband Larry Young of Lincoln, NE and Brad Wright and wife Deborah Testa of Clearwater, FL; nine grandchildren: Jennifer Ziemba (Steve), Jeffrey Soldan, Dr. Margaret Wright (Sophia), William Ethridge, Kirby Oswald (John), Dr. Meryl Ethridge (Will Kelly), Madison Ethridge, Katelynn Young, and Abigail Young; three-great grandchildren: Nalani and Brookelynn Wheeler and Zeke Oswald; one great great granddaughter Hazel Dittbrenner; other family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, his siblings: Duane Rounds, Richard Wright, Eleanor Harms, and Don Wright; his parents: Ray and Flava Wright.

James E. Wright left this Earth to join his beloved wife Shirley on July 22, 2023.
