James M Huntley

James M. Huntley, age 83 of Hamburg, IA passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Stanton Care Center in Stanton, IA.

James was born on October 18, 1936 in Havensville, KS; the son of James and Lucille (Archer) Huntley. He attended school in Topeka before moving to California. He was united in marriage to Donna Lou Culley on October 26, 1957 in Hamburg, IA.  She preceded him in death in 1989.

James worked at various jobs over the years. He began in construction and later moved to Hamburg and began working at Cargill (formerly Reed Grain) and worked there until his retirement. He enjoyed working outdoors. He had many hobbies that he enjoyed, including mowing, going to the casinos, playing cards and watching football and horse racing.  

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by great-granddaughter Raechel Huntley, great-great granddaughter Natalee (Huntley) Booher, grandson Jason J. Huntley and eight siblings.

James is survived by his children:  Kenny Huntley of Clearmont, MO, Linda Huntley of Hamburg, IA and Jamie Huntley and wife Rhonda of Grand Island, NE; grandchildren:  Jeremy Huntley and wife Holly of Rock Port, MO, Nathan Huntley of Grand Island, NE, Lacey Moore and husband Craig of Rock Port, MO, Russell Huntley and wife Melissa of Grand Island, NE, Heath Huntley and wife Kaitlyn of New Hampton, IA, Rae Huntley of Clearmont, MO, Kerry (Huntley) Cowden of Platte City, MO, Kully Huntley of Sidney, IA and Jennifer Thompson and husband Derek of Hamburg, IA; siblings:  Rose Watson, Delores Cavner, Rosie Adams, Larry Huntley and Donald Flowers; numerous great-grandchildren; other family and many friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Hamburg Cemetery in Hamburg, IA.
