Jacqueline E. “Jackie” Tanner, age 86 of Nebraska City, NE (formerly Talmage, NE) passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Prestige Care Center in Nebraska City.
Jacqueline Ellen Tanner was born on October 19, 1939 in Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of Lester Leon and Ruth Lenora (Bird) Eloge. She grew up and attended school in Nebraska City. On April 9, 1973, she entered the United States Army and served until her honorable discharge on December 31, 1975. While in the Army, she took courses to be a Medical Corpsman and served overseas in Okinawa. She received the National Defense Service Medal.
She is survived by her sister Jayne Swearengin of Nebr. City, brother-in-law Arnie Christiansen, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law: Lena Vander Kuur; other family and friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her four sons: William, Clark, Norman “Cork” and Ted Vander Kuur; siblings: Judy Marion (Phil), Jill Christiansen, Rick Eloge and Julie West (Mark) and a brother-in-law Gene Swearengin.
A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Fairview Cemetery near Talmage, NE.
