Irene M. (Collins) McCall, age 87 of Riverton, IA passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at the Ambassador in Sidney, IA.
Irene Mae McCall was born on August 27, 1937 in Hamburg, IA; the daughter of Hubert Edward and Allie (Gregg) Collins. She grew up and attended school in Hamburg.
On August 10, 1957 Irene was united in marriage to Kenneth McCall at the United Methodist Church in Hamburg. To this union three children were born: Roy, Tim, and Colleen.
Irene was a loving mother and wife who worked hard at raising her family and helped on the farm. She also worked at the bank in Riverton for a time. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women in Riverton.
Irene was an accomplished cook and family dinners were always welcome and enjoyed.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 68 years, Kenneth McCall; children: Roy McCall (Pam) of Hamburg, IA, Tim McCall (Cindy) of Farragut, IA, and Colleen Cole (Cliff) of Wellsville, KS; six grandchildren: Jill McCall of Omaha, NE, Mary “Maggie” Tassembedo (Lauren) of Colorado Springs, CO, Emily Wills (Nick) of Ft. Collins, CO, Christa McCall of Omaha, NE, Hunter Cole (fiancé Johanna) of Kansas City, MO and Maddy Cole of Olathe, KS; two great-grandchildren: Claire and Rosie Tassembedo; special friend Barbara Bartley; brother-in-law Victor McCall (Sharon) and sister-in-law Jean Collins of Portland, OR and other family and friends.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Joe Collins, Mary Brown, Floyd Collins, Betty Bruce, Raymond Collins and Edward Collins, brother-in-law Keith (Mary Alice) McCall.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg, IA. Inurnment will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery southeast of Hamburg at a later date.
The family will greet friends prior to the memorial service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Memorials may be given to the Riverton Rescue.
