Henry LeRoy Straw

Henry LeRoy Straw, age 84, of Nebr. City passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at his home.

Henry was born on September 9, 1935 in Nebraska City, NE; the son of Harry and Hazel (Dehart) Straw, Sr.  He grew up in Nebraska City and started driving truck for Straw’s Trucking with his brother Ralph Straw.  He later began trucking over the road for Warren  Transport until he retired at age 57.  He then mowed yards and bladed snow for various customers.

He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Bohlen on September 30, 1955 and to this union two children were born:  Ricky and Beverly.

Henry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Straw of Nebraska City; children:  Ricky A. Straw and (Angela) of Lincoln, NE and Beverly K. Weible (Randy Lynn) of Dunbar, NE; four grandchildren:  Runeta Eisenman (Jason) of Plattsmouth, NE, Allison Weible of Nebr. City, NE, Alicia Straw of Mansfield, OH and Josh Straw (Debra) of Waukee, IA; nine great-grandchildren:  Austin Williams of Papillion, NE, Cooper Eisenman and Gaven Eisenman both of Plattsmouth, NE, Kaedyn Straw and Landan Straw both of Waukee, IA,  Tyler Collman of Nebr. City, Emily Gammell and Brandon Gammell both of Mansfield, OH and Blake Mermann of Mansfield, OH; brother Robert “Bob” Straw of Lorton, NE; sisters-in-law:  Mary Bohlen of Nebr. City and Lois Straw of Kimberling City, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings:  Ralph, Harry, Jr. “Mort”, Roger and Doris (Harvey) Neemann; nephew and niece Mark and Kathryn Neemann; brothers and sister-in-law:  Ernest “Sonny” Bohlen and John and Donna Bohlen.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.  Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.
