Greg Yost, age 69 of Nebraska City passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Gregory Lynn Yost was born on July 12, 1956 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City, NE; the son of Billy Dean and Jean Eileen (Humann) Yost. He grew up and attended school in Nebraska City, graduating from Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1974. After high school, he attended Northwest Missouri State for one year and then transferred to Peru State College, where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Business in 1978.
On November 27, 1982, Greg was united in marriage to Dianna Lea Eiserman at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebr. City and to this union two daughters were born: Rebecca “Becky” and Katlynn. Greg and Dianna shared over 43 years of their lives together.
Greg and Dianna lived in Tulsa, OK and later moved to Hutchinson, KS in 1988 where he worked for Ford-New Holland. After a short time in Hutchinson, they moved to Hastings, NE and Greg worked at Friends Motor (NAPA). The family moved back to Nebraska City in 2000 and Greg worked many years at Table Creek Restaurant until his health began to fail. He was an avid Nebraska Football Fan and loved golfing; especially with his friends. He was a great bartender and was lovingly referred to as “Smooth” by many, because his drinks were so good! His favorite job-besides being a loving husband and father- was being Poppy to his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Dianna Yost of Nebr. City, NE; daughters: Rebecca “Becky” Yost and Katlynn Yost both of Nebr.
