Glen F. Wiebusch

Glen F. Wiebusch, 92, of rural Otoe, Nebraska passed away at home on April 20, 2020. 

Glen was the youngest child born to Fred W. and Lydia L. (Ganzel) Wiebusch on the family farm east of Otoe, NE on February 1, 1928.   He was a farmer first and foremost all of his life, also working at various jobs in addition to farming. He retired from Wheaton Tubing in the early 1990’s.  Glen was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers in law Neva and Ralph Bade, and Merna and Richard Helm, a granddaughter and great-grandson.

The farm was Glen’s pride and joy. In 2018, the Wiebusch family was honored with the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award for continuous family farm ownership of 100 plus years. The family held a celebration with friends and neighbors.

Those left to cherish his memory are wife of 62 years, Doris (Herzog) Wiebusch, daughter Janet (Doug) Shepherd of Raymond, NE and son David (Arlene) Wiebusch of Syracuse, NE, four grandchildren: Annie Shepherd, Eric (Corinne) Shepherd, Gregg (Kayla) Wiebusch and Scott (Hillary) Wiebusch, eight great-grandchildren, special niece Marilyn (Steve) Muir and their family, numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by four daughters from previous marriage, Connie (Jeff) Edie, Colleen (Rich) Prien, Collette (Craig) Miller, Corinne/Corky (Wayne) Blum and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Pastor David Buco officiating.

Memorials may be given to First Lutheran North Branch Church in Avoca, NE.
