Floyd D. Richardson, age 82 of Nebraska City passed away on September 8, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Syracuse, NE. Floyd and his wife Virginia moved to Nebr. City in 2014 from Superior, NE.
Floyd Dee Richardson was born on August 5, 1940 in Douglas, AZ and was the son of Joseph W. and Ruth Lorraine (Wood) Richardson. He attended school and graduated from the Ysleta High School in El Paso, TX with the Class of 1959.
After his high school graduation, he entered the United States Marine Corps and honorably served his country. He was discharged on November 17, 1965. He later attended and graduated from McMurray College and Duke University.
He was united in marriage to Virginia L. Stoldorf on April 17, 1960 in Geneva, NE and to this union six children were born: Kimberly, Todd, Jeffrey, Scott, Chris and John Paul.
In his younger days, he worked for Rockwell Tool Company and was a Carpenter. He then went into the Ministry where he served various churches around the county for 42 years until his retirement in 2014.
He is survived by his wife Virginia of Nebr. City; children: Kimberly McPherson (Scott) of Omaha, NE, Todd Richardson (Laurie) of Wausau, WI, Scott Richardson (Laura) of Dunbar, NE, Chris Richardson (Dawn) of Dunbar, NE, John Paul Richardson (sig. other Mandi) of Ashland, NE and honorary daughter Cathy Blankenship of Nebr. City; 12 grandchildren: Elliott Robb, Quentin Robb, Emmitt Richardson, Erin Karlen, Daria Richardson, Leah Schmitz, Dominic Richardson, Samantha Hirt, Morgan Richardson, Cheyenne Richardson, Brody Richardson and Reid Richardson; seven great-grandchildren and three more to be born within the two months; brother Mike King (Deborah) of Orlando, FL; other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by an infant son Jeffrey Richardson in 1970, sister Stella Mae Richardson as well as his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Nebraska City Fire Fighting Museum. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Marine Corps and the Talmage American Legion Post.
