Eunice (House) Navrkal

Eunice A. Navrkal, age 86 of Nebraska City passed away on Saturday; Jan. 11, 2020 at her home.

She was born on August 12, 1933 in Nehawka, NE ; the daughter of Henry Relise and Mary Edna (Jordon) House.  She attended school and was a member of the Dunbar, NE Class of 1952.  She was united in marriage to Leonard A. Navrkal on March 1, 1952 at the former St. Paul Catholic Church in Dunbar, NE; and to this union four children were born:  Dan, Darrell, Marcy and Mike.

Eunice worked as a Machine Operator at American Meter Company in Nebr. City.  She began working there in 1966 and retired in 1997.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.   Eunice enjoyed traveling and going on cruises; but her greatest love was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed!

She is survived by her children:  Dan Navrkal and wife Jeannie of Beaver Lake, Darrell Navrkal of Nebr. City, Marcy Beck and husband Robert of Plant City, FL and Mike Navrkal and wife Jeanie of Omaha, NE; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law:  Luella House of Nebr. City and Betty Attebery and husband Robert of Elmwood, NE; brother in law Don Navrkal and wife Deloris of El Paso, TX, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard on May 23, 2004 and siblings:  Minnie, John, Francis, Martha, Esther, Ruth, Mary, Hank, Paul, Naomi and Larry.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday (1/15) at 11:00 a.m. at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebr. City with Fr. Tim Danek celebrating the Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gude Mortuary followed by a Prayer Service/Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
