Eric J. Conrad

Eric J. Conrad, age 52 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy in Omaha, NE.

Eric was born on December 11, 1968 in Lincoln, NE; the son of Paul John and Bonnie Jean (Conard) Conrad.  He attended school in York and graduated from York High School in 1987.  He then entered the seminary studying for the Diocese of Lincoln; first at the University of Nebraska -Lincoln, then later at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia, PA.  He attended seminary until his graduation.

On August 31, 1996, Eric was united in marriage to Jennifer J. Ducharme in Omaha, NE and to this union five children were born:  Andrew, Peter, Kathryn, Jonathan and Nathaniel.  Eric was a Financial Advisor and began working at Edward Jones in 1997.  He took over the  Nebraska City office in 1998 and served many clients over the years. In February of 1999, Eric and Jennifer moved to Nebraska City and made it their home.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer of Nebr. City; children:  Andrew, Peter, Kathryn, Jonathan and Nathaniel all of Nebr. City; two siblings:  Kris Walkup and Greg Conrad both of York, NE; father-in-law:  Dennis Ducharme and wife Elaine of Marlboro, CT and mother-in-law:  Kathleen Vincent and husband David of Pittsfield, MA; brother and sisters-in-law:  Jeffrey Ducharme of Tucker, GA, Maida Wassermann of Agawam, MA, Greta Bolton and husband Gil of Matthews, NC; nephews: Josh Conrad and wife Jenny and Sean Walkup and wife Karlie all of York, NE; nieces: Chelsea Wittgren and husband Reg of Palmyra, NE, and Nicole Lee and husband Brandon of Lincoln, NE; other family and friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bonnie Conrad; sister Kimberly Conrad; brother Nicholas Conrad and brother-in-law William Walkup.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebr. City with Fr. Eric Arnout celebrating the Mass.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Nebr. City.  The services will be recorded and uploaded to Gude Funeral Homes Facebook page at approximately 12 noon.  

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday (3/8) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City, followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.  The casket will remain closed.

Memorials may be given to St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward, NE or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
