Dorothy Elaine Feil was born at home in Riverton December 5, 1934, the first born of Raymo and Marguerite Barton.
She attended and graduated from Riverton School in 1953. Dorothy married her high school sweetheart, Lee Feil, November 26, 1953 and enjoyed 47 years before he passed in 2000. Two sons, Mike and Pat were born to this union.
Dorothy worked some at the nursery in Hamburg in her earlier years, did the bookkeeping and parts running for their construction business, and helped her sister waiting tables in the busy season.
She was a member of the Church of Christ for many years in Sidney and Riverton, then later the First Christian Church in Tabor. She loved the Lord and all her church family. She belonged to the Rebekah Lodge for 30 years and served on each chair position.
She was a very crafty person, and enjoyed making things like jewelry, baskets and crocheting doilies. On the weekends she enjoyed being a vendor at flea markets where she took her grandkids or nieces or nephews to sell glassware, Indian jewelry, chamois and much more.
Preceding her in death were her sons, Pat at 35 in 1993, Mike at 38 in 1994, and her husband Lee in 2000. Parents Raymo and Marguerite Barton, brothers Wayne and Ricky, and nephew Wayne Barton II.
She is survived by her daughter Beth Feil Mayberry of Sidney; brother Don (Donna) Barton and sister Marlene Esser of Riverton, IA. Grandchildren: Amber (Jarrod) Berry of Wichita, KS, Aaron Feil of Creston, IA, Andrew (Shasta) Feil of Des Moines, IA, Chelsey (Ben) Hall of Sidney, IA, Sky (Jayme) Lord of Riverton, IA, and Ryan (Kristi) Lord, Omaha, NE; great-grandchildren: Trysten, Vivienne, Jenna, Sycily, Landon, Nolan, Raegan, Ava, Jay, Hailey, and Amelia; nieces and nephews: Tony, Lisa, Nick, Ricky, Jessie, Donnie, Devvie, Diane, Darcy, Brian, BJ, and Kelly; 24 great nieces and nephews, 4 great-great nieces and nephews; Long Life Best Friend of 65 years Ruthie Ward of Riverton, IA and other family and friends.
She will be missed and loved by all her friends and family very much.
