Doreen Marie (Bruce) Wichman

Doreen M. Wichman, age 70 of Nebraska City passed away on Nov. 13, 2025 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

She was born on July 19, 1955 at Bangor, Maine; the daughter of William and Lois (Duffy) Bruce.  Doreen attended school at various military bases; growing up in a military family.  She graduated from high school in Tucson, AZ and later took classes to earn her CNA (Certified Nursing Aid) certificate.

She was united in marriage to Darrell Ray Wichman on July 6, 1982 in Tucson, AZ.  Darrell preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 2025.

Doreen worked for many years as a CNA at the former Golden Living Care Center in Nebraska City.  She later worked at Cargill and Walmart – both in Nebraska City.

Doreen is survived by her children:  Cynthia Wichman Jimenez of Omaha, NE and Darrell Ray Wichman II of Nebraska City; two step-daughters:  Melissa Wichman of Bernville, PA and Andrea Martin (Jeffrey) of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren:  Selena, Rubicel, Emilia, Antonio, Angel, Myella, Elizabeth, Krystale, Jeffrey, Victoria, Anthony, Joseph, Samantha, Daniel, Zineb, Tiffany, Jaden and Nicholas; great-grandchildren:  Helena, Drew, Jazzy, Zara, Malachi, Juliana, Nolan, Elias, Phoenix and Amelia; brothers:  William Bruce (Stacy) of Arkansas and Brian Bruce (Robyn) of Arizona; sister Vicki Matthews of California; sisters-in-law:  Wanda Straw and Susan Baker both of Nebr. City; other family and many friends.

In addition to her husband Darrell, she was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Bret, a step-daughter Stacy Boyette, sister-in-law Diane Soriano and her husband Zeke; brothers-in-law:  Harry Straw and Phil Baker; and her parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday; Nov. 29, 2025 at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City, NE.
