Dolores L. (Hobbie) Wade

Dolores L. Wade, age 90, of Plattsmouth, NE (formerly Nebr. City) passed away on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021 at the Masonic Home in Plattsmouth.  She was a resident of the Masonic Home since April of 2017.

Dolores was born on October 29, 1930 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of Karl and Louise (Giittinger) Hobbie.  She grew up and attended school in Nebraska City and graduated from Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1947.

She was united in marriage to William Patrick “Pat” Wade on December 31, 1970 in Nebraska City, NE.  He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2009. 

Dolores was a housewife and homemaker.  She was an active member at the First United Methodist Church in Nebr. City and volunteered for many activities at the church.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.

She is survived by her children:  Marion Hapes and husband Ron of Chillicothe, MO,    Chris Ross and wife Terri of Plattsmouth, NE, Patricia Parson and husband Alan of Arlington, NE, Debbie Mengelkamp and husband John of Lincoln, NE,  Vicki Ferris and husband Bryan of Cedar Rapids, IA and Jan Payne and husband Nic of Lincoln, NE; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; other family and many friends.

In addition to her husband Pat, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, one brother Ralph Hobbie and sisters:  Dorothea Boardman and Betty Robinson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.  Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service.

Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City or the Nebraska Masonic Home in Plattsmouth, NE.
