Delores I. (Brown) Scharp

Delores I. Scharp, age 89 of Farragut, IA (formerly Nebr. City) passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at the Ambassador in Nebr. City.

Delores Inez (Brown) Scharp was born on September 10, 1936 in Padonia, KS; the daughter of Robert G. and Opal Inez (McConnaha) Brown.  She attended school in Nebraska City and graduated from the Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1955.

On November 30, 1956, Delores was united in marriage to Harold K. Scharp in Nebraska City.  He preceded her in death in 1995. 

Delores owned and operated her own business for some 30 years; helping the elderly with care and support.  Over the years, she cared for and developed many friends with her clients and their families.  She was a long-time member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Nebraska City.

She is survived by her children: Steve Scharp (Diane Faust) of Farragut, IA, Jeff Scharp of Omaha, NE and Gina Scharp of  of Auburn, NE; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; siblings: Robert Brown (Mary) of Nebr. City, NE and Betty Borer of Nebr. City, NE; other family and friends.

In addition to her husband Harold, Delores was preceded in death by her daughters Cindy Tabbert and Julie Scharp, her parents, a sister and brother-in-law:  Garnet and Buck Kreifels and brother-in-law Steve Borer.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday; September 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Pastor Theresa Brezenski of First Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wyuka Cemetery at Nebraska City.
