David Lee Graham

David L. Graham, age 61 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at his home in Nebraska City.  

David Lee Graham was born on September 18, 1963 in Shenandoah, IA; the son of Robert Leroy and Waneeta Fern (Jones) Graham.  He attended school in both Shenandoah, IA and Coin, IA and later graduated from the Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1981.  He then attended Southeast Community College and ITT Technical Institute.

David worked at various places including Honeywell (American Meter), Arnie’s Bagelicious and Cargill, where he was employed for some 17 years.  He also worked for the Nebraska City Parks and Recreation Dept, mowed lawns with David Wilberger and Larry Chapin and painted large bridges.  He enjoyed his times at the Casino and at West Central Bar/Grill in Nebraska City; but most of all he enjoyed and loved his family.

David leaves behind his six children:  Christina Hilgerson of Neb. City, NE, Justin Graham (Christina) of Neb. City, NE, Tylane “Ty” Kurtzer (Austin) of Neb. City, NE,  Derek Graham of Neb. City, NE, Robert Graham of Neb. City, NE, Marty Ray Graham (Sarah) of Neb. City, NE, 14 grandchildren; Sammy, Katelyn, Cale, Lauren, Ashlyn, Tanner J., Bladen, Kholden, Maysen, Jaiden, Hayden, Hadley, Jackson, and Wesley; his father Robert Graham of Shenandoah, IA his siblings Linda Lantz of Sioux City, IA, Gene “Gino” Graham of Essex, IA, and Paula Rhodes of Shenandoah, IA; other family and many friends..

He was preceded in death by his mother Waneeta (Jones) Graham in 2006 and a brother Steve Graham in 2009.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.  Fr. Jonathan Haschke will officiate at the services.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday (10/9) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.
