Darlene Bassinger

Darlene Bassinger, age 95 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Prestige Care Center in Nebr. City.

Darlene was born Doris Darlene Bassinger on December 15, 1929 in Colorado; the daughter of Dwight and Julia M. (Kleineweber) Bassinger. She attended Pleasant Grove District #35 Country School and later attended the Nebraska City High School where she graduated with the Class of 1947.

After high school, she began working at American Meter, a job that spanned over 40 years.  She retired December 20, 1991.  Darlene was a member of Bethel Church in Nebr. City.

She is survived by nieces and nephews; other family and friends.

Darlene was preceded in death by her siblings:  Miner Bassinger, Leonard Bassinger, Donovan Bassinger, Dewey Dale Bassinger and Jerome Bassinger as well as her parents Dwight and Julia.

The family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.

Private family graveside services will be held at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City where she will be laid to rest with her parents, Dwight and Julia.
