Cynthia Sue (Israel) Driscoll

Cynthia S. Driscoll, age 81 of Syracuse, NE (formerly Neodesha, KS) passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society in Syracuse, NE.

Cynthia Sue Driscoll was born on November 24, 1940 in Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of Harold “Hap” and Martha “Nooky” (Dresher) Israel.  She grew up and attended school in Nebraska City, graduating from Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1958. 

She worked many years in nursing homes and home health care.  Cynthia also worked for Region V.  She was always known as a compassionate person who loved people and animals.

She was united in marriage to James Driscoll on April 14, 1985 at Faith Baptist Church in Nebr. City.  They shared 37 years together before her passing.

Those left to cherish Cynthia’s memory include her husband James Driscoll of Cook, NE; children:  Toby Sammons (Norma) of Farragut, IA and Julie Snyder (Wayne) of Cook, NE; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister Glenda Moore of Farragut, IA; brothers and sisters-in-law:  Bob Driscoll, Ed Driscoll, Mary Driscoll and Sue Driscoll; other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Tonja Gragg in 2022 and son Don Driscoll in 2017; two granddaughters; brothers and sisters-in-law:  Fred, Bud, Betty, Dan, Darrell, Rosemary, Jack, an infant brother and Jim “Red” Moore.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.  Burial will follow at Mt. Zion (Utterback) Cemetery of rural Hamburg, IA.

The family will greet friends prior to the service at the mortuary, from 12:30 p.m. to service time.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
