Charles J. (Chuck) Vogt

Charles J. “Chuck” Vogt, age 71 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln, NE.

He was born on January 24, 1952 in Lincoln, NE; the son of Arnold M. and Muriel (Berman) Vogt.  He grew up in Lincoln, where he attended Lincoln High School. At a young age he worked for the family window washing business in Lincoln.

Chuck married Kristin Louise Ford on April 11, 1983 in Alachua, FL. Together they spent many years playing music and forming bands. Their sons Kameron and Quintin were born of this union.

After moving back to Nebraska to raise his boys, he attended Southeast Community College where he received an Associate Degree in Computer Science. He then worked for REI in Omaha, building electronic parts for radios and computers. He later learned AutoCad software and became an expert draftsman for Otoe County Surveyor David Schmitz for some 15 years.

He continued his music endeavors over the years and enjoyed traveling to Jamaica.

He married Sophia R. Taylor on August 21, 2011 in Nebraska City, NE and expanded his family, adding stepchildren and step-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Sophia Taylor-Vogt; sons:  Kameron Vogt (Katie) and Quintin Vogt (Kacie); grandchildren:  Karter, Kadyn, Landyn and Gracelynn; brothers:  Jerry Vogt, Jay Vogt and Alan Vogt (Patty); nieces:  Katia, Darlene, Kyra Vogt, Karina Vogt (Lee), Aiyana Vogt, Natalie Ford (Brad), Alicia Pirimasihi (Dan) and Mikayla Vogt (Aaron); stepchildren:  Shevanese Osbourne, Kisrene Osbourne-Irving and Akeem Osbourne; step-grandchildren:  A’Avani Easter, Kaejeneke Bernard and Kaiden Irving; other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents:  Muriel (Berman) Vogt Colbert, Arnold M. Vogt; stepfather Mason E. Colbert and nephew Freedom Vogt.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.
