Betty Lee (Ackley) Lukowski

Betty L. Lukowski, age 94 passed away on Thursday; February 27, 2025 at the Louisville Care Center in Louisville, NE.   She formerly resided in Omaha, NE and Nehawka, NE.

Betty Lee (Ackley) Lukowski was born on January 27, 1931 in Riverton, IA; the daughter of Verne and Helen (Barth) Ackley.  At a young age, the family moved to the Nehawka, NE community where she attended school and graduated from the Nehawka High School with the Class of 1948.

She was united in marriage to Bernard C. Lukowski on June 18, 1954 in Omaha, NE and to this union three children were born:  Frank, Diane and Jeff.

Betty was a housewife and homemaker.  She also owned and operated Wimpy’s Bar in Nehawka with her husband Bernard for some seven years.  She also lived in Omaha, Lincoln, Plattsmouth and most recently in Louisville at the Louisville Care Center.

She is survived by her children:  Diane Baxter (Russ) of Murray, NE and Jeff Lukowski of Lincoln, NE; daughter-in-law Diann Lukowski of Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren:  Tony Lukowski, Reannen Lukowski (Elmer Smith), Jeremy Baxter (Brandy) and Becky Baxter; seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews including Jerry Ackley (Liz) of Mentone, CA; other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard on February 2, 2000, her son Frank Lukowski on December 10, 2003, brothers:  Gerald Ackley, Eldon Ackley, Bob Ackley and Norman Ackley as well as her parents.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church at 23rd and Hancock in Bellevue, NE with Pastor Michael Lusk officiating.  Immediately following the services, a time of lunch and fellowship will be held at the church.   A Family Graveside Service will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery north of Nehawka.

The family will greet friends on Tuesday; March 4, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Services are entrusted to the Gude Family at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City.
