Barbara Lois (Aspedon) Hankins

Barbara L. Hankins, age 84 of Riverton, IA passed away at her home on Sept. 14, 2022.

She was born on July 18, 1938 in Hamburg, IA; the daughter of Dale F. and Dorothy P. (King) Aspedon.  She attended school and graduated from the Hamburg High School, Hamburg, IA with the Class of 1956.

She was united in marriage to Glen E. Sapp and later married Doyle E. Hankins.  Barbara worked for many years at West Central Development in Sidney, IA.

She is survived by her children:  Joyce Shelton (Keith) of Chillicothe, MO, James Sapp (Barbara) of Lincoln, CA, Janet Sapp of Riverton, IA and Joseph Sapp (Teresa) of Omaha, NE; daughter in law Sue Sapp of Bartlett, IL, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son Jerry Sapp, a brother Larry Aspedon (Pat) and a sister Janice Hensley (Curtis) as well as her parents and husbands.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday (9/17) at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverton Christian Community Church (former Methodist Church) in Riverton and burial will follow in the Riverton Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday (9/17) at the Riverton Christian Community Church.
