Anne Aufenkamp, age 76 of Nebraska City, NE passed away at her home on Saturday; January 2, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Anne was born on January 9, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY; the daughter of Charles A. Gaddis, Jr. and Peggy Elizabeth (Montray) Gaddis. She attended school in Chula Vista, CA, Auburn, NE and Nebr. City, NE where she graduated with the Class of 1963.
Anne worked at H & R Block and the former Merle Norman Store in Nebr. City. She began her career at LT&T Phone Co. and retired from Alltel in 2007 after 20 plus years of employment. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was united in marriage to Richard L. “Dick” Aufenkamp on December 9, 1988 at Julian, NE and together they shared over 32 years of their lives together.
She is survived by her husband Richard “Dick” Aufenkamp of Nebr. City; children: Julie Schram (Kenny) of Louisville, NE, Leesia Weihs (Jeff) of Crescent, IA and Rhonda Wilke (Mike) of Omaha; step-son John Aufenkamp (Carol) of Auburn, NE; five grandchildren: Bailey Cochran, L.P. Schram, Jacob Schram, Tyler Aufenkamp and Isabelle Aufenkamp; two great-grandchildren, a sister Christy Sutton and brother Michael Gaddis (Kathy) all of St. Louis, MO; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Charles A. Gaddis, III.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.
