Aaron Dean Bennett

Aaron D. Bennett, age 52 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on September 22, 2025 at his home.

Aaron Dean Bennett was born on November 12, 1972 in Nebraska City, NE; the son of Allen Dean and Janene Ann (Kreifels) Bennett.  He grew up and attended school at Lourdes Central Catholic and later Nebraska City High School where he graduated with the Class of 1991.

He married Mary McDonnell on November 15, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebr. City and they later divorced.

Aaron worked as a heavy equipment operator and did construction at various jobs over the years.  He also worked at Cargill in Nebr. City for some 16 years.

He is survived by his parents Allen and Janene Bennett of Nebr. City; siblings:  Adam Bennett (Anne), Becky Sturm, Aric Bennett (Tara) and Ryan Bennett (Tawna) all of Nebr. City; his children:  Keegan Stones of Nebr. City, NE and Paige Stones of Nebr. City, NE; grandchildren:  Everett Jay and Daxton Dean; nieces and nephews:  Trevor, Tylor, Natalie, Abbie, Hollie, Josephine, Carter, Lexie, Bodhi and Margo; aunts and uncles:  Merri Lynn Drzycimski of Sioux Rapids, IA, James Kreifels (Marilyn) of Omaha, NE, Randy Kreifels (Permelia) of Bennett, NE and Chris Kreifels (Pam) of Nebr. City; other family and friends.

Aaron was preceded in death by his grandparents:  Leonard “Pete” and Veda Bennett and Elwood “Woody” and Phyllis Kreifels; uncle Greg Drzycimski and aunt Cindy Kreifels.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Nebr. City with Fr. Doug Daro officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Camp Creek Cemetery south of Nebr. City.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday (9/26) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.

A Memorial Fund is being established in Aaron’s name.
