Larry A. Bottcher, age 60 of Talmage, NE passed away at his home surrounded by his family on August 8, 2018 , 8½ years after his diagnosis of a glioblastoma brain tumor.

Larry was born on September 24, 1957 at St. Mary‘s Hospital in Nebraska City, NE, the son of Lyman O. and Kathleen M. (Heng) Bottcher. He grew up in Talmage and graduated from the Nemaha Valley High School in 1976.

Larry married Susan Kay Foster on April 3, 1982 at the United Methodist Church in Nebraska City, NE.

Larry was a life long farmer and was the owner/operator of Bottcher Ag Sales with his father Lyman. He was very active in the Talmage community and served on the Talmage Volunteer Fire Department, the Tri Valley Bank Board of Directors, the Otoe County Farm Bureau Board and the Talmage Farmers Cooperative Board of Directors.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Susan Bottcher of Talmage, NE; daughter Megan Brehm and husband Randall of Syracuse, NE; three grandchildren: Lauren, Leighton and Lyndon; mother Kathleen Bottcher of Talmage, NE; siblings: Connie Miller and Bob Miller of Omaha, NE and Vicki Slaughter and husband George of Olathe, KS; brothers and sisters-in-law: Dan Foster and wife Terry of Union, NE and Linda Halstead and husband Bryce of Kimball, NE; other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Lyman on August 3, 2018; his grandparents and his mother and father-in-law Rose Ann and John Foster.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in rural Nebraska City (Paul). Fr. Michael Ventre will celebrate the Mass and burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City followed by a Prayer Service/Rosary at 6:00 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the Talmage Volunteer Fire Department.

Immediately following the graveside services, family and friends are invited to join the family at the Talmage Community Building, Talmage, NE for a time of lunch and fellowship.

We have been around Larry a few short times but we have been blessed knowing the entire Bottcher family. We are so sincerely sorry for the loss of a husband, father, son and brother.
