Mabel Marie Mount went home to the arms of our Savior on April 21, 2018 at the age of 97 years.

Mabel was born on September 28, 1920 in Hamburg, IA; the daughter of Albert and Viola (Booker) Ward.  She married Marvin Mount on October 6, 1939 in Rock Port, MO and to this union two daughters were born.

Mabel spent most of her adult life working at Interstate Nurseries in Hamburg.  She retired in 1983 after some 35 years of working there.  She also did volunteer work at the Hamburg Hospital after her retirement.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church and also attended Percival Community Church; her faith in God was apparent in her everyday activities.

She loved playing cards with her friends, working word games in puzzle books, gardening, and shopping with her friends.

Living in Hamburg all of her life, she found solace in the last years of her life being close to those old friends she loved the most.  She moved to the Ambassador in Sidney in 2017 but managed to live on her own up until then.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters:  Karolyn Hartman and husband Donald (Doc) of Waverly, NE and Linda Leyden and husband Gary of Lincoln, NE; five grandchildren:  Cindy Boever (Mark), Scotty Hartman (Sue), Darren Beason, Denny Beason (Kimberly) and Danielle Beason; 13 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mabel was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, her parents and her five sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday (April 24) at 10:30 a.m. at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg with her dear friend Pastor Blaine Pritchett officating.  Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery southeast of Hamburg.

Memorials may be given to the Hamburg Rescue.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Such fond memories of my Aunt Mabel ... my favorite was when we would come from California to visit, she always say to me “ now tell me again .. which kid are you?”
So sad to hear of your passing and so very happy that you are finally home. So many waiting for your return.
All my love to my cousins Karolyn and Linda .. and their families.
My God wrap you in his arms as you grieve the loss of your beloved Mother.
Love you!
