Virginia Lea (Maupin) Erb

Virginia L. Erb, age 86 of Holden, MO (formerly Hamburg, IA) passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, MO.

Virginia was born on July 4, 1932 in Hamburg, IA; the daughter of Elmer and Eula Lea (McAdams) Maupin.

She worked at Interstate Nurseries outside of Hamburg for many years and later at Casey’s General Store.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hamburg and she attended Wesley Chapel in Kingsville, MO.

Virginia is survived by children:  Linda (Erb) Johnson of Holden, MO, Leslie Erb and friend Donna of Missouri Valley, IA, Cindy (Erb) Davis and husband Tad of Holden, MO and Jerry Lynn Erb and wife Ann of Placentia, CA; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, friends and other family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Eula Maupin, sisters:  Louella Gilbert, Dorothy Laughlin, Helen Pedraza and Ruth Taylor; brother:  Carroll “Moot” Keith Maupin; infant sister Doris and infant brother Charles.

A Memorial Service will be held at Wesley Chapel in Kingsville, MO on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg, IA with Pastor Tom Beutler officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery southeast of Hamburg.

The family will greet friends prior to the services, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Wesley Chapel in Kingsville, MO or the First Baptist Church in Hamburg, IA.
