Roger Hoy Obituary
Roger L. Hoy, age 68 of Dunbar, NE passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City.
Roger was born on August 22, 1950 in Falls City, NE; the son of Robert Lee and Loretta Mae (Murphy) Hoy. He was united in marriage to Roxanne G. Bennett on December 8, 1972 in Rock Port, MO and to this union four children were born: Jason, Trini, Wendy and Shawn.
Roger worked at different jobs over the years, including at Cargill and most recently at Sapp Brothers.
He is survived by his wife Roxanne Hoy of Dunbar, NE; children: Jason Hoy of Dunbar, NE, Trini Hoy and significant other Nikki Wenzel of Syracuse, NE, Wendy Vodicka and husband Kurt of Nebraska City, NE and Shawn Hoy and wife Cynthia of Union, NE; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; siblings: Diane Perez (Jesse) of Houston, TX, Rocky Hoy (Karen) of Plano, TX, Orville Hoy (Dixie) of Falls City, NE, Mary Ann Mendez (Jesus) of Nebr. City, NE and Terry Hoy of Omaha, NE; half-siblings: Bobbie Schroeder (Arland) of Eagle, NE, Leslie Hoy (Valerie) of Lizella, GA, Scott Hoy of Nebr. City, NE and Kelly Waggoner (Shawn) of Eagle, NE; other family and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Loretta Hoy; father and mother-in-law, Ralph Cleo “Sam” and Arwilda (Bassinger) Bennett.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will be in Camp Creek Cemetery southeast of Nebraska City.
The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday (4/28) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City. The family will also greet friends on Monday, at the church, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
