Pearl Talbot, age 95, passed away on Friday evening; September 7, 2018 at the Ambassador in Sidney, IA. She made the Ambassador her home since November 2, 2009.
Pearl was born on August 4, 1923 in Lynn, MA; the daughter of Anthony and Panagiota (Stavropoulos) Haldezos. She graduated from Eastern District High School in Brooklyn, NY with the class of 1941. Pearl was united in marriage to Maurice Godfrey Talbot on June 15, 1946 in Montreal, Canada and to this union one daughter was born: Nancy.
In addition to raising her daughter, Pearl was a secretary and bookkeeper for her husband’s business and also for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She was active in her daughter’s activities such as Brownies and Girl Scouts. One of her favorite pastimes was that she loved to sing.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Nancy Hurst and husband Mel of Hamburg, IA; one grandson, Melvin Hurst(fiancee Haley Kessinger) and four step-grandchildren, Steve Hurst and wife Belinda, Lisa Chambless, Paul Hurst and Sarah Hurst; two step great-grandchildren, Jack and Cortni; five nephews, one niece, other family and friends.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; husband Maurice Talbot on Dec. 7, 1991 and siblings: John (Maria) Callas, Christine (Peter) Nicketakis and George (Fumiko) Callas.
