Janice L. (Weddle) Neeman

Janice L. “Jan” Neeman, age 74 of Nebraska City, NE passed away early Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Ambassador in Nebr. City.   She had resided at the Ambassador since 1999.

She was born on November 13, 1945 in Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of Walter L. “Pete” and Hazel Lorraine (Dilley) Weddle.  She attended school at Lourdes Central Catholic, graduating with the Class of 1964.  She then went on to attend Southeast Community College where she enrolled in the Secretarial/Nursing Program..

She worked for the Nebraska City Parks and Recreation Department and was a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Tracy Herndon of Olathe, KS and three grandchildren:  Cody, Cade and Caylor;  siblings:  Mike Weddle of Lincoln, NE, Jerry (Mary) Weddle of Zellwood, FL, Bob (Jody) Weddle of Nebr. City, NE, Chris (Deb) Weddle of Nebr. City, NE; step-siblings:  Roxy Hansen of Nebr. City, NE, Rick (Cindy) Hansen of Nebr. City, NE, Ron (John) Hansen of Omaha, NE and Renee (Rick) Farley of Lincoln, NE; numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Walter “Pete” Weddle, Hazel Weddle, step-mother Lois Weddle, daughter Lori Michelle Kersten on Feb. 18, 1974 and a sister Kay Mather.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Nebr. City.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 2) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.
