Georgia M. Teten

Georgia M. Teten, age 82 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Prestige Care Center in Nebraska City.

Georgia was born on March 27, 1937 in Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of George R. and Emma (Schomerus) Lechner.  She was baptized on May 25, 1937 and confirmed on April 2, 1950 at Bethel Evangelical and Reformed Church in Nebraska City by Rev. George Duensing.  She grew up and attended school graduating from Nebraska City High School with the class of 1954.

On June 1, 1954, she began her career at Otoe County National Bank as a Bank Teller.  She continued working there for 42 years and 11 months!

She was united in marriage to Merlyn Teten on March 5, 1957 in Nebraska City, NE.  He preceded her in death on October 29, 1965.  She later married Victor Teten on January 20, 1967 in Nebraska City.  He preceded her in death on May 10, 2009.  

She is survived by her sons:  Michael M. Teten and wife Judy of Norfolk, NE and Loyd V. Teten and wife Julie of Nebr. City; 11 grandchildren:  Matthew Teten and wife Niki, Danielle Jeffrey and husband Hayden, Ashley Gillespie, Morgann Teten, Heather Teten, Dalton Teten, Marcus Teten, Emily Teten, Joseph Teten, Harrison Kreifels and wife Jamie and Jessica Jones and husband Clayton; 13 great-grandchildren; other family and friends.

In addition to her husbands Merlyn and Victor, she was preceded in death by a son Allen D. Teten on Jan. 18, 2015, an infant son Mark A. Teten on Sept. 20, 1961 and a grandson Jordan Teten on May 27, 2016.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday (9/19) at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebr. City with Pastor Keith Valenzuela officiating.  Burial will follow in Wyuka Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday (9/18) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.

Memorials may be given to the Bethel United Church of Christ.
