Alice M. Hoshor, age 96, of Nebraska City passed away surrounded by family on Monday, April 22, 2019, at the Ambassador in Nebr. City.
Alice Marie (Harders) Hoshor was born on May 11, 1922 in Glendale, AZ; the daughter of Claus Waltimar and Clara Johanna (Fischer) Harders. She attended Grace Evangelical Lutheran School and Glendale Union High school and then graduated from Lamson’s Business College in Phoenix, AZ.
On February 15, 1946 she was united in marriage to Charles William Hoshor at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Westboro, MO. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1999.
Alice was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nebr. City., where she was an active volunteer. She was a housewife, homemaker and a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother, and aunt.
Those left to cherish her memory include four children: Kathy Baker and husband David of Wichita, KS, Bruce Hoshor and wife Donna of Maple Grove, MN, Terri Nelson and husband Wayne of Nebr. City, NE and Steven Hoshor and wife Susan of Nevada, IA; seven grandchildren: Ashley Baker, Jordon Hoshor, Haley Hoshor, Nicholas Hoshor, Cassandra Hoshor, Trent Nelson and Alyssa Nelson; nine great-grandchildren; one sister Ruth Sanders of Novato, CA; other family and friends.
In addition to her husband,, she was preceded in death by her parents, Claus and Clara Harders, an infant son, Charles Michael Hoshor, son, John Scott Hoshor, grandson, Tyler Wayne Nelson and a sister, Esther Harders.
Following a visitation from 9:30-10:30 at the church, a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Nebr. City with Pastor Charles Kathurima-Murithi officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery near Maryville, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Nebr. City.
